Community Garden Concept
Local architect Kalyna Sparks created a Community Garden Concept Pack Issue on 8th November 2023.
Please note these are ideas for community discussion and are not a finished plan. See a printed copy of these plans and discuss the ideas at the Coonabarabran Community Garden Meetups
2357 Development Group Inc. thank Kalyna Sparks for the creation of this Concept pack and generous donation of her time and expertise.
Drafting a Management Plan
The project is still in its early stages, we have found a suitable location for the garden and need to submit a clear management plan to the Warrumbungle Shire Council to progress it into reality.
Members of 2357 Development Group have started a draft plan sourced from Community Gardens Australia and other community gardens... in readiness for the new committee to fine tune further.
Raising Funds
2357 Development Group has been acting as an Umbrella organisation for the Future Coonabarabran Community Garden. Assisting with banking and reporting on all funds raised for the project.
Brett England has been leading this whole project and reporting to 2357DG meetings. Raffles, Meat tasting events and monthly meet ups as well as donations have raised funds to approx. $9000.
Once we get a location locked in we will be able to apply for grants.
